We love LINEN

We recently started stocking the amazing brand Gypsy Luxe, Linen sheets and Quilt cover sets. The linen bedding is made from 100% french flax that has been stone washed to give it a relaxed drape and super soft feel. The colours available are crisp white, slate grey, and natural and are designed to be mixed and layered to create a tranquil, timeless feel in your bedroom.

As part of our linen crush, we have compiled some inspiration images we found online and some from in store to showcase the serene, classic look of this gorgeous product.

Gypsy Luxe Linen Quilt Cover Sets, available here

P.S One of the things we love about linen is the more you use this beautiful linen, the more soft and gorgeous it becomes.

Our Favourite Wedding Blogs

When I got married, blogging and pinterest weren't really around. I find this SO disappointing, as I spent a small fortune on bridal mags. I bought everything on offer in Australia and then whilst holidaying in America, thought it only appropriate, as I didn't want to miss a trick, to buy a sack full of bridal bibles and drag them all around the States.

Thank goodness for modern technology, we now have the most amazing bridal resources online and free, meaning you can save your money and get more confetti garlands for your big day.

We love meeting bride-and-grooms-to-be through our wedding registry service and hearing all about their unique wedding plans. It is a wonderful time of their lives and we always try and tailor their registry to the type of wedding they hope to have and house they want to create.

Here are our favourite Bridal Blogs to browse, they get us all warm and fuzzy and super keen to organise some sort of renewal of the wedding vows!

OUR TOP SIX PICKS:

100 Layer Cake is an all encompassing blog that really does resemble love. It is stunning. From flowers, dresses, jewellery, hair, shoes and cakes, this blog has it all! It has the most amazing DIY tutorials on how to make mind blowing decorations. It also has an amazing marketplace for wedding props (shipping is sometimes available)! And if you really want to lose yourself online, check out their pinterest page here.

Nouba Wedding Ideas is an Australian blog written by the gorgeous Tamarin - who incidentally had the most stunning bridal hair at her own wedding - in the world. Nouba is a fantastic resource for Australian Brides and has a special interest in getting the unique look and feel at your wedding, whilst not spending a fortune. Check out their fab section on shoestring weddings here. It is a beautifully designed site and has such a calming, down to earth feel. The layout is a little like pinterest, very image orientated, which makes it easy to find something you fancy, click on the image and get more of what you love. One of our favs!

Green Wedding Shoes is a one shop stop for Inspiration overload! The site's creators Jen and Jason, believe their is no 'right' way to host a wedding and therefore feature weddings of all shapes and sizes. Great pics on bridal showers, advice on wedding photo shoots and even inspiration on vow renewals!

The Lucy Chase Project is a really cool website! Never before have weddings and DIY style looked so good. Lucy (a pseudonym for a New Zealand travel enthusiast Aleisha McNiece) is all about unique, happy, and super cool weddings. I love the layout of this uber cool blog and feel personally connected to the people who have been featured. It is truly like looking through your best mates photo album. Imagine origami weddings and pom poms. I mean seriously. Just. so. cool.

Polka Dot Bride is another fabulous way to while away the hours looking at beautifully styled and executed weddings. It is an Australian Blog which has become one of the leading websites for finding inspiration for your wedding day. Polka Dot Bride is such a powerhouse when it comes to wedding planning! It carefully categorises everything and is a super easy website to navigate and in my case - get completely lost and absorbed. The attention to detail is inspiring and you really must check out their pinterest page (which has nearly 12,000 followers!) for some seriously delicious pics on Australian weddings.

Simply Peachy is a super cute blog that always puts a smile on our dial! They have these amazingly helpful posts which teach brides and grooms how to make and create things for your wedding. Sometimes it is hard to become an expert on something (like floral arranging) overnight but Simply Peachy is your self help manual online. They recently teamed up with Joyce from J.F Floral Couture to break down the components of a bridal bouquet which had us completely falling all over ourselves. Check out the sample below and click through to see this amazing blog.

Mikarla has spent the last 10 years as a floral designer working for boutique florists in Sydney and Berlin. She is regarded as one of Sydney’s most exciting florists blending her own unique style and vision into each installation.

Currently dividing her time between Sydney and her property in the southern highlands, Mikarla incorporates her own farm grown produce into her work to provide clients with locally sourced arrangements that compliment the season.

Mikarla strengths lay in clashing colour combinations, contrasting textures and the compulsive desire to search the markets, farms and the roadside for that special bloom her clients are lusting for.

“Floristry is in my blood. I love nothing more than twirling the perfect posy, getting up a cheery picker to hang floral chandelier or seeing a bride gush over her bouquet. I’m a more is more kind of girl”

Sparkle Your Home!

Christmas may be over, but that does not mean we have to stop injecting sparkle into our homes! I love the silly season and one of my favourite things about it is the fairy lights and unashamable amount of glitter floating around. I have been searching for some non-christmas sparkle inspiration and here are my top picks. Enjoy!

Here is my favourite finds on Pinterest and some options we have in store for a fast and effective bedroom makeover!

Review - Gelato Messina

When this book arrived in store recently, we literally melted into a salivating mess!

Messina first opened its doors in Darlinghurst, Sydney in 2002. It had a clear goal - to set a new benchmark for Gelato in Australia. They have certainly achieved this with people flocking to their store, which is now located at The Star, The Creative Department and in Surry Hills. They have been given honours in the Good Food Guide and have many fans, including some of the finest chefs in the country.

We are thrilled the Messina family have compiled their most beloved (and best selling) recipes and published them in this glorious book. Messina - the cookbook, includes lush photography and clear instructions on how to create their recipes in your very own domestic kitchen. Insert whooping sounds!

Our favourite is Mango Sorbet!

Mangoes are in season and we used Kensington Pride. So juicy and sweet, you would swear that it has dairy in it - but it doesn't. It would be PERFECT as an alternative Christmas Day dessert!

You can buy the book here ($39.95 + shipping) - and if this is a Christmas present, don't forget to request free gift wrapping!

Interview with Canvas Home

‘With a blank canvas, textiles can transform any setting into a fresh, new space.’
Canvas Home evolved from our love of creating and designing beautiful bespoke collections while travelling the globe for inspiration. Collaborating with Indian artisans, our collections are rich with a kaleidoscope of vibrant hues, stunning textures, hand block printing and appliqué.

We hear you recently took a trip to India for work, what would your day look like in India?

Up early and eat the most delicious ‘masala dosa’ for breakfast. It is an Indian breakfast with paper thin crispy crepes with spicy potato filling. It really wakes you up! Spend time with suppliers designing ranges including fabrics, colour palette and block printed patterns. The Indians are very hospitable and there is always ‘Chai’ on offer to keep you going. We try and stop for lunch and love visiting ‘Latitude’ the café on top of Good Earth in the Khan Market in Dehli. It is a must every trip. Salty lime sodas are a favorite! Off to another supplier - taking photos out of the taxi as I go. Camels on roads, monkeys on power lines are all in a days work. Return to the hotel and enjoy a well deserved Gin and Tonic or two.

Shopping in India can be fabulous - what was your best buy?

A beautiful hand stitched vintage wall hanging that is massive and hangs on the wall at home – it was so heavy I had to ship it back with stock.

Favourite Curry?

Eating a ‘thalis’ (which is a selection of all different tastings) by candlelight on a rooftop Haveli in Jaipur

Finish this sentence, 'a trip to India is not complete without...'

Getting lost in the Kinari Bazaar, literally the ‘trimmings and trinkets’ market in Old Delhi.

Where do you find inspiration?

All around from trips in Taxi's to the incredibly talented people we work with.

Most memorable car trip?

Driving home down a dirt road from dinner near the Amber Fort in Jaipur, we literally came across an elephant coming home from work at the fort. His master stopped and he was poking his trunk in the car windows and we were able to get out and meet him!

Favourite colours from the trip?

The Saris the women wear are incredibly beautiful and the colours always inspiring. Hot Pinks, Orange, Yellows and even the Neon colours are on trend there!

Christmas Table Settings

We're not really one for traditional, so we have been searching for inspiration to make our Christmas table AMAZING this year! And wow. We have found some cracking stuff. As in, get your champagne bottles ready and your prawns top and tailed because we have you sorted this Christmas!! And the added bonus - everything we are going to show you is not Christmas exclusive! It can be used all year round (at times in a completely different function) and therefore makes it even more fantastic!

Pony Rider have given us some fabulous inspiration and shown us how wonderful their Hydrangea Flower Patch Throw looks as a table cloth - and there you have the multifunctional product which can be used on a lounge / bed / table throughout the year!

Add some wonderful faux flowers and your table is festive, colourful and inviting!

For some serious colour love on Christmas day look no further than our colourful glassware and jugs.

Add extra luxury to your table with scatter cushion on each seat. These could also be perfect for jazzing up your lounge or bed in the New Year!

And finally for food! Thanks again to Pony Rider for sharing some amazing recipes - all made for their photos shoot (please say I wasn't the only one salivating over the food!) Check out them out here.

Welcome To Our Entrance!

The entrance to your home should blow people away! O.k, that may be a little O.T.T but we are here to gently encourage (lecture) you on moving the muddy boots and bulky raincoats out of the road and inserting some serious style into the spot all your visitors are making their first impression of your house!

So, as recently mentioned, remove all old shoes, toys, junk mail and items you are planning on returning to people. This de-clutter will allow you to see the space clearly. Do you need a new console or buffet to help keep the area tidy? Or some baskets to put the shoes in?

Is your entrance screaming out for a fab hall runner or rug to help define the space?

We suggest placing an amazing artwork In your entry way. Every time you come into the house you will be reminded of how gorgeous your home is!
