The Orange Wine Region!

Our dream has come true - you're looking at the Wine Ambassadors for the Orange Region!!! We'll be honest, we know absolutely nothing about wine except that we LOVE to drink it! Come along with us as we explore what makes the Orange wine region special, and discover the unique qualities of this high altitude, cool climate wine region.

Each season, we'll give you a snapshot of our favourite drops! WINTER in Orange means cold frosty mornings, cool but sunny days - crackling fires and a good glass of red!

For the ultimate winter's day in Orange we started our adventure in Millthorpe at Tamburlaine Wines (don't panic - it's organic!) Known for their award-winning organic, vegan friendly and low sulphur wines, we enjoyed a glass of SHIRAZ. Due to the cold climate, Shiraz grows really well in Orange!

From here - it was a quick stroll up the road to Angullong. Nestled into a historic bluestone cottage with a roaring fire, we enjoyed an Italian varietal, Barbera! Italian varieties like Sangiovese and Babera offer a fine framed, savoury alternative to historic French varieties - pairing perfectly with food!

Now it's time to head off to our next location - but it wouldn't be a JUMBLED adventure if it wasn't in style!!! Mark from Orange Trike Tours picked us up on his Boom Mustang Trike and we had SO MUCH FUN! We felt like royalty waving to every passing car, with the wind in our hair!

We arrived to a nice warm fire and a glass of red at Ross Hill! Wine in hand, we were taken in for a cooking class at Barrel & Larder, taught by the hilarious Michael Manners!

Ross Hill prides themselves on being Australia's first carbon neutral winery! Their Griffin Road vineyard has elevations ranging from 750 - 810 metre which is where their delicious Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grow!

So what are you waiting for, winter is the perfect time to visit Orange and enjoy a local red! In August we celebrate the Winter Fire Festival so what better time to come and explore what our region has to offer!
