Beautiful Bonnie!

We can't wait to introduce you to one of the most colourful artists in the JUMBLED gang, Bonnie Gray! We've been lucky enough to have a few of Bonnie's artworks in store before and you just can't but feel super happy when you see her work!

A poet and a story teller, Bonnie's artworks weave together short tales full of colour and life. Reminiscent of 90s tee shirts and gelato skies, Bonnie's work is a melodic explosion of joy. Inspired by birthday parties and celebrations, each piece is a little ray of sunshine.

If you're as addicted to Bonnie's infectiously happy artworks as we are, then make sure you jump online to check out the AMAZING original artwork that we just brought back with us from Sydney! We are literally skipping through the shop we're so excited!

Oh hey there Adele!

Oh my gosh, I can't tell you how excited we are to meet new artist Adele Naidoo!!! Growing up in South Africa with an artist for a father, Adele grew up with all things beautiful and creative. Inspired by a childhood of colour and beauty, Adele now works as a digital artist!

Influenced by Fauvism, Adele is drawn to the juxtaposition of bright, bold colours. She works with a combination of saturated colours and subdued pastel hues.

We are thrilled to be stocking a range of her brightly coloured birds! They are printed on a stunning canvas, which is stretched over wood and framed in Tasmanian Oak. They're the perfect pop of interest for any space!

Brilliant Beth!

Have you guys had a chance to check out our incredible Beth Kennedy original artworks yet? Her work is incredible - the colours, the pop of neon, the layers and the seriously intricate little bits. I could stare at one of her artworks for hours on end!!

We had a seriously quick catch up with Beth - I don't know about you but I just NEED to know how this girl ticks!

Mix or match?

Definitely mix, I like a lot of colours and patterns and I don’t mind them clashing a bit!

Fave colour combo?

I’m totally obsessed with pink and love all different shades of pink in my paintings and I teem this with blues, greens and oranges (to name a few!)

Where do you find your inspiration?

I love looking at patterns whether fabrics or wallpapers; flowers - I draw these from life and it’s a lovely thing to have fresh flowers in my house; other painters work inspires me too

Dream holiday destination?

Paris! We’re jetting off on a family holiday next year which we’re looking forward to

Describe your style at home?

White walls, colourful cushions and throws, big paintings on the walls (of course!) and it’s got to be pretty but low maintenance as well as I have two little girls and I want them to be totally at ease in their space. We have a dinged up dining table that they sit and draw and paint at and I love that

Dream Collaborators?

Well I’m feeling totally blown away to be collaborating with Greenhouse Interiors and also Jumbled Online! Honestly, talk about dreams coming true...

Describe your perfect day

It would involve sleeping in, wandering off (without the kids ;) for a lazy brunch and then a spot of shopping followed by a movie - bliss!

What is on your dream home wishlist?

Rachel Castle cushions, a big Leah Bartholomew print and eventually a new dining table!!

Say hello to Kate!

Eeeep - we get so super excited when we find a new artist, and when we spotted Kate's work it was love at first sight!!! We are beyond excited to introduce you to Kate Mayes! We're totally loving her jungle vibes and fresh greens, and her enthusiasm and lust for life is totally contagious!
We asked her to put down her brushes (only for a few minutes!) for a speed round of quick questions....
Mix or Match?
Mix all the way.
Fave colour combo?
Probably blue and green and dusty pink and emerald green and a peach and violet combo is superb too, there are far too many to choose just one.
Where do you find your inspiration?
EVERYWHERE! I am so annoying, I’m always saying to my family oh look at those clouds, look at this leaf, look at the way the ocean is sparkling, I’m just going to pull over and pick some wildflowers/weeds!
Dream holiday destination?
Greece
Describe your style at home?
Modern Scandinavian. Minimalist. Clean lines.
Our home is a U shape and I love that I can see through to each of the rooms from wherever I am in the house.
Dream collaborators?
Ok, Gorman or Kip and Co. I know, I know I’m not quite up there with Rachel Castle and Animalia (and so many others) but a girl has to dream big.
Describe your perfect day?
10am wake up then automatically be ready for the day, coffee and a beach walk with my family, paint until late afternoon then a swim and dinner in the backyard. Then paint some more.
What is on your dream home wishlist?
My family, somewhere to paint, piles and piles of incredible linen and a pool
We are so super lucky to have scored ourselves a handful of Kate Mayes' original artworks! They are seriously selling in transit, this is crazy insane, so be super quick to secure your favourite today! You can SHOP KATE MAYES on our website HERE.

Meet Kate Jarman!

We are so excited for you to get to know one of our favourite artists, Kate Jarman!

If you're a cactus fan, you've no doubt spotted one or two of her cactus paintings in store or on our insta!

Perth based Kate Jarman lived in Minnesota for a portion of her youth and is inspired by the Arizonian desert. She has a fascination for nature and botanicals, and you can see this coming through her art.

We were lucky enough to catch Kate for a quick chat...
Mix or Match?
Mix!! I like to keep the big ticket items fairly neutral and earthy and then be bolder in colour with artwork, cushions and throws etc
Fave Colour Combo
Dusty pink and mustard with a bit of pastel aqua to make it sing
Where do you find your inspiration?
Nature, home mags and Instagram
Dream holiday destination
Byron Bay. We are going there for the first time in January and I can't wait!
Your perfect day?
My perfect day would be having a lie in, coffee in bed, painting in the studio and then dinner out somewhere with family and friends.
Describe your style at home
I love earthy tones and textures, baskets, natural weave rugs and light timbers with pops of colour in things like cushions, artwork and throws etc. I have quite a few indoor plants and like to feel surrounded by nature even when I am inside.
Now if you're as big a Kate Jarman fan as we are, then boy do we have news for you! Starting tonight Friday 17th November 2017 at 7pm, we are running a competition for you to win a framed limited edition print of Kate Jarman's 'Elke's Cactus'! Woo hoo!!!
The competition is strictly on instagram so make sure to head over to @jumbledonline to participate!

Dulux Colour Trends 2018

As total colour lovers, every year we hang out for the Dulux Colour Trends. It's the ultimate inspiration! This year I was blown away when I  was asked to be a contributor!!! Umm.... yes, yes please!

This year's trends focus around 4 main themes; Essential, Escapade, Kinship and Reflect.

ESSENTIAL: Embrace different textures, handmade touches and raw edges

Essential is an ode to an authentic way of life and an appreciation for thoughtful and handmade items. It's all about bringing it back to basics and uncomplicating our surroundings. The colour focus here is gentle soothing colours. Not necessarily the traditional neutrals but rich tones designed to encourage simplicity.

We love that this trend creates a soothing and relaxing haven - you just know you'll feel rejuvenated from being in this home. The minimalist focus allows you to really appreciate those super special items.

Painting aside, there are lots of ways you can bring this trend through your home. Bring in more texture  - super soft linens, a handmade ceramic platter for the table, a soft woolen throw blanket or a knotted jute rug. Keep the palette simple and earthy but don't just stick with beige. Try dusty pink or a soft avocado, get creative but think soothing.

ESCAPADE: Creating fun, lighthearted holiday vibes

Moving right on to Escapade - this is all about creating a fun and playful space, reminiscent of those relaxing holiday vibes. The adventure comes from inspired colour palettes, that perfect pop of an unexpected colour, bold shapes and a mixing pot of styles.

We love that this trend creates a space that is uplifting and playful. The perfect little escape, why would you want to be anywhere else?

You can bring this trend through your space by being brave with colour! Pick a colour palette that you just really love and try it! If you're unsure where to start, I find it useful to pick a favourite artwork and draw colour inspiration from there. Working with similar tones and then choosing an unusual contrast colour will help the colour feel cohesive.

KINSHIP: A celebration of culture through colour and texture

That brings us to Kinship, an eclectic blending of cultures and colours creating a space that is all about happiness, family and friendship. Cluttered with a mix of cultural and traditional pieces, Kinship focuses on warmth through collection and deep rich terracottas.

We love that this creates a warm inviting space where you want to gather around the table with loved ones and share stories. The collection of cultural items feels personal and evokes a sense of wonder that travel ignites. The rich earthy tones pulls it all together.

You can emulate this trend with lush Moroccan rugs, unique vintage vases and hand printed Indian style cushions. Rich earthy tones can be balanced with muddled greens, and pattern, embroidery and tassels helps finish the space perfectly.

REFLECT: Elegance and opulence are emulated through deep, rich tones and a nod to past glamour

Reflect throws back to the elegance of an older era. Timeless luxury is explored with moody and deep tones, touches of metallic and iconic shapes and styles.

We love the quiet decadence that this style oozes. Restful yet eccentric, the space feels like luxury.

To bring the Reflect theme through your space, draw your focus to classic finishings and unique century pieces. Think marble, crushed velvets, rich leather. To really set the space, try a unique central focus - it could be a deep purple velvet armchair, a smokey century pendant or even a crumbling antique stone bust. Try deep rich tones to bring it all together.

As usual Dulux have totally nailed the trends this year and I cannot wait to re-evaluate my space and inject some freshness with colour! If this is anything to go by, 2018 is going to be a cracker of a year!
